THE PARK
Casa delle Farfalle is the perfect destination for families and nature lovers looking to spend a day discovering biodiversity. Your ticket allows you to stay inside the park for as long as you wish. We generally recommend spending around 30 minutes inside the Tropical Greenhouse and the Insect House.
For the best experience, we suggest following this itinerary:
- Invisible Threads of Nature
Begin your visit with a captivating 10-minute video introducing the concept of biodiversity—a poetic and immersive journey into the hidden world of nature. - Butterfly Garden & "The Caterpillar"
Stroll through the botanical garden featuring native pine forest plants, pollinator-friendly species, artistic plant installations, an insect hotel and peaceful corners where nature takes centre stage.
Within the garden you'll also find The Caterpillar, a small greenhouse developed in collaboration with the University of Bologna to support the reproduction of native butterfly species. - The Disappearing Bumblebee
An engaging outdoor adventure introduced in 2024, designed especially for children. This interactive treasure hunt invites visitors to discover insects, pollinators and the importance of biodiversity. - Insect House
Explore fascinating insects representing aquatic, terrestrial and aerial habitats from across the globe, including stick insects, leaf insects, giant cockroaches and many other extraordinary species. - Tropical Butterfly Greenhouse
The highlight of your visit.
Walk through a lush 500 m² tropical rainforest where hundreds of colourful butterflies fly freely around you. The greenhouse maintains a temperature between 28°C and 30°C (82–86°F) with humidity levels of 65–70%, recreating an authentic tropical environment. - Nature Shop
